Because of his dedication and The Maez Group’s core commitment to communication, Ruel is as much a part of the office as anyone sitting at a desk in their Albuquerque offices. Ruel has been working The Maez Group for more than 5 years, acting as the communications expert and logistics man. He’s an expert at customer support and client interaction, with a strong tech background that connected him with Joe. Optimistic with a positive view of the world, Ruel is intent on finding a solution regardless of the problem and ensuring everyone involved is satisfied and happy with the outcome.

He shares The Maez Group’s commitment to innovation and resourcefulness, with a dedication to his work and position on the frontline of the brokerage. Selling or buying a house is a tough decision and it’s important to consider who you’ll entrust with that decision. Cory Saenz, Signage & External Services Runner

Cory Saenz may be The Maez Group “sign guy” and fast-paced runner, but he’s as chill as they come. He loves his job driving all around the Albuquerque area from the East Mountains to Belen and Santa Fe, placing signs, delivering documents and keys to sellers, and meeting contractors on site. It’s a job tailored for his peaceful, even-keel personality. For the last three years, Cory has been supporting the brokers; taking care of most of the logistics happening outside the office that don’t directly involve selling and buying. He loves how well everyone in the brokerage gets along and contributes to the friendliness and support of his work environment.

Instead of answering phones or looking at a computer at their sales headquarters, Cory’s office is the red and white Maez Group Sprinter van where he enjoys the mountain air and listens to music and whatever is trending in podcasts. He enjoys the independent work and the peacefulness of his day-to-day life. When he’s not driving, Cory Saenz is sampling from the wide array of New Mexico’s culinary offerings, stopping into restaurants he spots along the road, and spending time at home, planning international travel adventures.

Leona Gonsalves, Buyer’s Specialist

Leona Gonsalves, Buyer’s Specialist with The Maez Group, is all about maximizing her abilities and utilizing resources. Whether as a stay-at-home mom or for the last 17 years as a REALTOR®, Leona thrives in adaptive environments, negotiating situations for her clients as if they were family. She loves her brokerage; their support let’s her do what she does best: sell real estate and take care of her buyers.

Leona prides herself on her patience and careful handholding. Whether she’s working with first time home buyers, military service members with VA loans, or older clients, she brings a sense of peace and calm to the process, ensuring they’re comfortable throughout the entire journey to closing. Because of her careful tending, many of her clients become like family.

Leona’s faith and family are first and foremost in her life and she loves serving others. Regardless of whether it’s volunteering in a soup kitchen or taking extra time to answer questions and comfort a client, her goal is to assist in whatever way she can. Danielle Salazar, Buyer’s Specialist

Buyer’s Specialist Danielle Salazar is all about making buyers happy; she loves getting to know her clients and helping make their dreams of home ownership come true. Prior to becoming a broker, Danielle was a loan officer and understands the ins and outs of the lending process. Her passion for home design combined with her financial knowledge got her into realty where she’s thrived in the close environment of The Maez Group.

She loves having a resource-rich brokerage that allows her to focus entirely on her clients. Her philosophy for creating strong relationships with her buyers is supported by the strong relationships she has with her team, a small, cohesive brokerage where she receives on-the-job training and no one “gets put on the back burner”—client or agent.

Thanks to the bevy of people, including lenders, a title company, and top-producing brokers and coordinators, Danielle can promise your transaction will run smoothly. As the Transaction and Operations Manager, Terri has her hands on everything being processed. She’s been working in and around real estate for almost three decades, a career she obviously loves and still finds challenging.

Terri’s level of expertise is unmatched. She’s well-versed in everything from the paperwork and personal logistics, to the behind the scenes work of title insurance and loan processing. Her understanding of all the issues that can arise throughout the process helps her avoid them, ensuring problem-free transactions that run smoothly to closing.

The mother of two and grandmother says her compassion helps her succeed and find fulfillment every day, with each individual client. She understands the ups and downs of life and how buying or selling a home can add to the complication. It’s never a stale process and Terri’s empathy gives her insight into the human side of her work. She loves being the primary support for the brokers, seeing her role as the spotlight, making sure they can shine.

Rosie Maez is the conductor of The Maez Group symphony. While her husband Joe likes to say she got him “into this mess,” she’s actually a big reason it’s not a mess, but a well-organized, beautifully run orchestra. As the Director of Operations and Marketing, Rosie oversees the broker recruitment as well as marketing and business logistics.

The daughter of an artist, Rosie has never been an inside-the-lines thinker, doing things her own way with great results. Rosie has held nearly every role within the brokerage from photographer to sales and understands what goes into each step of getting a home bought or sold. She knows what it takes and has applied her brand of excellence and positivity to every task: “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit.”

Whether setting an example for their two kids or taking on a brand-new broker, Rosie teaches every situation is an opportunity to learn and grow. She admits she and Joe have had failures, but each time they’ve managed to fail forward and come out stronger. They’re designing the life they want and building it together.

Rosie’s passion is helping others grow to exceed their potential and design their own lives, instead of being stuck in status quo inside other people’s expectations. Petra Saenz, Transaction Coordinator

Transaction Coordinator Petra Saenz is all about logistics and the behind-the-scenes work necessary for a seamless transaction. Described by the team as the “go-to” person, she takes care of everything from business cards to printing, and can answer questions with the experience of a veteran real estate broker. As a licensed REALTOR®, she understands everything that goes into a home sale and prides herself on the all-encompassing support she offers The Maez Group brokers and clients. Whether they need marketing supplies or property research done, Petra is there, serving the brokers so they can serve the clients, and providing the oil for the well-oiled machine that is the number one brokerage in the state.

Being with the Maez Group is perfect for Petra, who thrives in an atmosphere of growth and adaptation. Joe Maez “has so many ideas” for what he wants to do and how he wants to grow; Petra is excited to be part of the innovation. In addition to her role at The Maez Group, Petra is the office and transaction manager for AI (All-In), a second brokerage for more seasoned agents pursuing their own teams while maintaining connection with Joe Maez as a mentor and resource. From small problem-solving opportunities in her day-to-day work to big changes, like her expanded role in their new brokerage, no two days are the same and Petra loves every one of them.

Paul Daniels, Buyer’s Specialist

Paul Daniels knows all about taking care of customers while dealing with important, potentially stressful transactions. The Buyer’s Specialist worked for 15 years as Funeral Director, Sales Manager, Cemetery Manager, and Vice President of Operations for Daniels Family Funeral Services. He’s an entrepreneur and salesman at heart; currently president of 4BF, natural rubber pet toy manufacturer. Paul takes pride in his work and The Maez Group reputation for expertise in the marketplace. A longtime friend since they both went to UNM, Paul became a REALTOR® because of his respect for Joe Maez and his admiration for his realty business model. Paul knows what it takes to run a successful business and the team network of transaction coordinators, behind-the-scenes experts, and lenders at Frost Mortgage means Paul can focus on what he does best—finding homes for his clients.

Paul’s passion is “the discovery process with the buyer.” He loves finding the perfect fit that meets all their needs and dreams. Because of the support and resources he receives from The Maez Group, he’s able to focus solely on his clients. “No matter how many transactions are happening, each customer feels like they’re the only one,” because of the systems and processes in place to keep things running smoothly and maintain focus on the buyers.

Paul’s degrees in marketing and organizational communication is the perfect foundation for enhancing The Maez Group customer relations. The happily married father of three is a UNM alum and avid golfer, dedicated to keeping up with his “Triple A Batteries”—three active daughters he loves spending time with.

Marie Ann Alvarado, Virtual Administrative Assistant

When she first interviewed with Joe Maez, Marie Ann Alvarado committed to work for him as long as The Maez Group needed her. Seven years later, the virtual administrative assistant is an integral part of the team, providing support to the clients, brokers, and in-house staff. Marie Ann is a technical support expert, with a passion for troubleshooting and improving systems to increase efficiency. She loves numbers, organization, and research and the freedom to be who she is within The Maez Group.

Marie Ann is the mother of three with a background in veterinary medicine. She loves caring for animals and cooking beautiful meals for her kids in their family home. Family means considering each other’s needs, trusting the mutual love and support you give and receive—a culture she experiences with her work family as well. Regardless of the fact she’s halfway around the world, nestled in the mountains of the Philippines, she’s as much a part of The Maez Group family, imbued with all the same trust and confidence as anyone in the main office with a view of the Sandias.

Just like the office staff, she’s fully equipped with the knowledge, tools, and resources to do her job. It’s the reason the business works so well—everyone from admin to top-selling broker is given everything they need to thrive individually and achieve the objectives of their role, resulting in an environment of total support for the client and each other. Lisa Spina, Listing Manager

Listing Manager Lisa Spina is the wizard behind the curtain at The Maez Group. Most people never meet her in person, but her role is essential. Working from Florida, Lisa takes care of all the marketing—everything from business cards and signs, to the extensive advertisements and marketing campaigns happening for every property. She also manages the exhaustive marketing campaigns they do for their luxury listings; collaborating with Simply Design to reach larger markets and target potential buyers worldwide.

Lisa spent 17 years in hotel management, moving through the ranks from host to resort manager, learning to juggle and meet the demands of running an entire resort property. Her attention to detail and talent for connecting with people made her a professional success, but her ability to maintain life balance enabled her to thrive. After a stint as a stay-at-home mom, Lisa returned to career life with new priorities that made working with The Maez Group a perfect fit. Her experiences and skill shine even from across the country. Lisa is proud to be part of a group with the most knowledgeable leader and staff; no one else offers the same level of expertise and service and she’s proud to be an asset to the top-producing brokerage.

He, along with his colleague Ammar, built the branch from the ground up. In collaborating with The Maez Group, they’ve created a reputation for excellent customer service and friendly professionalism. Steve believes in a model that is “more service than sales,” providing consumers with everything they need to apply for a mortgage without pressure. Unlike traditional banks, Frost Mortgage tries to reduce stress for their people. Steve and his team provide advice on credit repair, waiting to pull credit reports and require documentation, educating their clients along the way, and communicating with total transparency.

Michael Freeman, Frost Mortgage Assistant Loan Officer

Michael Freeman lives by the words of his father, “You didn’t do your job right if someone else could have done it better.” He gives 100% to everything he does so at the end of the day, he’s confident his consumers couldn’t have received better service anywhere else. Michael is the newest member of the Frost Mortgage team, but this Assistant Loan Officer is already entrenched in the Frost culture—providing service that exceeds industry standards to each and every consumer, guiding them through the lending process with as much communication and as little stress as possible.

Michael’s experience in appraisals along with his finance degree and longtime interest in residential and commercial real estate were the perfect combination of passion and knowledge for him to enter the mortgage lending space. He’s thriving under the mentorship of Steve, his middle through high school wrestling coach, and Ammar, and is a perfect fit on the Frost Mortgage and Maez Group teams. Like many of his colleagues, his time away from work is family centered; each day he looks forward to spending time with his son and serving his community as a high school wrestling coach.

A New Mexico native and Los Lunas “farm kid,” Michael loves being part of something local; helping his community and providing service that goes beyond that of the national and big bank brands. Michael understands the major impact his work has on other families. A family man himself, he’s honored to participate in the process, helping people and solving problems. Emery Maez, Associate Broker and Qualifying Broker of The Maez Group Española Office

The Maez legacy started with Emery Maez, though he’s quick to credit his son’s ceaseless innovation and hard work for The Maez Group’s success. Prior to becoming a REALTOR® at his son’s urging, the Marine Corps veteran, was the retired CEO of an electric co-op in northern New Mexico and served a one-year term as the executive director of a rural healthcare clinic, helping manage logistics and improve their systems. Emery’s strengths are working out systems to develop and grow a business. Whether it’s with his family’s inn or as the qualifying broker of The Maez Group’s Española office, Emery is a great manger and loves applying his expertise to help people.

He’s a technical expert with particular knowledge of northern New Mexico; a special market with incredible beauty and unique property amenities not commonly seen in more urban areas. Emery and his Española team understand rural services from water rights and irrigation considerations to septic and wells. Emery loves analysis—spreadsheets, data, and numbers—filtering his buyers’ criteria to find the right property in the right place. By educating his clients before they start showing he saves them time and mileage, eliminating needless travel by determining what will work without every stepping foot out of his office.

In real estate, Emery’s passion is taking someone with an initial desire to buy or sell a property and guiding them to the closing table. It’s a long and complex process a lot of people take for granted until they’re in the thick of it. Ammar Nesheiwat, Frost Mortgage Loan Originator

Loan originator Ammar Nesheiwat has business in his blood and always knew he’d choose a career serving people. Ammar is from a family of entrepreneurs and while he admired the spirit of what they do in the restaurant and retail industry, he chose a different path after graduating with a biochemistry degree from SUNY Purchase in New York where Ammar was raised. After taking a U-turn, he rejoined his family in New Mexico where the sunshine, lifestyle, and business opportunities were the right fit.

Ammar credits his colleague, Steve Lowe with everything he knows about lending. The family-oriented model of collaboration between Frost Mortgage and The Maez Group means they’re sharing knowledge every day, collaborating and communicating to meet the needs of their clients and supporting each other. Ammar believes in over delivering, working closely with The Maez Group transaction team to provide the best service. They “treat everyone like a first-time home buyer,” with daily updates and disclosing everything happening along the way. Ammar is all about communication, taking pride in the knowledge and comfort he can give his clients; never leaving them to wonder what’s happening with their loan. His goal is always clarity and consistency, doing everything he can to eliminate anxiety during the high stakes, emotionally charged time for his consumers. Each transaction starts with a strategic planning session, so the consumer understands the expectations placed on them and Ammar’s role as loan originator. Amin Gauba, Associate Broker

Associate Broker Amin Gauba is a house flipping expert. In the four years he’s been flipping, Amin has bought, renovated, and sold 83 homes. He didn’t start in realty, but he’s been bred with business acumen. His parents own small businesses in the area including gas stations and food retailers. Amin worked in retail customer service and branched out with a car dealership, but he grew up watching renovation shows on TV and kept it in the back of his mind as his dream job.

When his wife became pregnant with their first child, Amin knew he had to make a change—working two full time jobs wouldn’t allow for the type of involved parenting he’d always dreamt of. He took the plunge into flipping full time and became a REALTOR® to handle more of the logistics of buying and selling himself.

You could say Dolores Maez is largely responsible for the spark that started The Maez Group. Associate Broker and mother of Joe Maez, she’s a veteran educator with a passion for teaching and giving back that still burns hot. Raising her sons with her husband Emery Maez in the mountains of northern New Mexico, her goal was always to create an environment of learning for her family, students, and community. She instilled this passion in Joe; clearly evidenced by the brokerage’s business model of support, education, and care.
